Frequently Asked Questions

Support Through Birth and Beyond

Questions You Always Asked.

When should I reach out to book a doula?

The earlier, the better, especially if you want ongoing support during pregnancy. Most clients reach out during the second trimester, but if you’re further along, reach out anyway. If I have space, we’ll make it work.

Do you support high-risk pregnancies?

Yes. I specialize in working with clients navigating complex or high-risk births. My background in public health allows me to support you with both emotional reassurance and evidence-based care tailored to your unique medical situation.

What if I’m already working with a midwife or OB?

Perfect. A doula doesn’t replace your provider, we work alongside them. I help you prepare, advocate, and stay grounded throughout your experience, while your provider focuses on the clinical aspects of birth.

I’m not planning a home birth, do I still need a doula?

Absolutely. I support births in hospitals, birth centers, and homes. Many of my clients want a more natural or low-intervention birth in a hospital setting, and my role is to help make that feel possible, supported, and calm.

What’s the difference between a doula and a midwife?

A midwife provides medical care. A doula provides physical, emotional, and informational support. I’m not a clinician, I don’t check dilation or deliver babies. I help you make decisions, manage labor, and feel safe and seen during the process.

Do you support families over 35 or those giving birth “later in life”?

Yes, this is one of my specialties. Many of my clients are navigating birth after 35, balancing full lives and careers while preparing for parenthood. I offer personalized support that respects your experience, your time, and your need for calm, informed care

What if I go into labor earlier than expected?

I’m on call 24/7 starting at 36–38 weeks (depending on your package). If you go into labor early, I’ll do everything in my power to be there, and I have a trusted backup system if needed.

Do you offer postpartum support too?

Yes. All packages include at least one postpartum check-in, and my higher-tier offerings include more extensive support. I also offer add-ons for extra visits or virtual postpartum care if you need more.

Are payment plans available?

Yes. I offer flexible payment plans and will always discuss options during our consultation. A 50% deposit is due to hold your spot, and the remainder is due by 36–38 weeks depending on the package.

How do I get started?

Easy, just book a free consultation. It’s a 30-minute session where we get to know each other, talk through your goals, and figure out what kind of support will feel best for you.
